India's elderly population is growing steadily, making the health and well-being of senior citizens a matter of national importance. With this in mind, Guru Gorakshnath Institute of Medical Sciences, under Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, Gorakhpur, is proud to present Deerghayu 2026 — the National Conference on Geriatrics, to be held from 4th to 6th November 2026.
The word "Deerghayu" means a long and healthy life, and it truly reflects the purpose of this conference. It will bring together geriatricians, physicians, nurses, researchers, students, and other healthcare professionals from across the country to discuss the challenges and progress in elderly care. The programme will include keynote lectures, scientific sessions, panel discussions, and paper and poster presentations on important topics such as healthy ageing, chronic disease management, geriatric rehabilitation, mental health, and palliative care.
Through Deerghayu 2026, the organisers hope to create a platform for learning and collaboration, and to promote evidence-based, compassionate care for the elderly across India — in line with the University's larger mission of advancing healthcare, research, and service to society.
